Foodie Days Project

Aug 21 marks the last day of our Foodie Days Project (FDP) in 2014 organized by the school and supported by the PSG.
According to the initial plan, there was supposed to be 6 days' supply of food but due to the fact that the school decided to extend the activity by one more day (13 August 2014) and an increase in the number of participants, the budget has increased from $600 to $1404 in total.

Although PSG raised only $1284 on PTM day for the project, we had enough reserved funds to subsidize the remaining costs.
Students contribute too!
Though the PSG has increased the catering amount from 50 people to 70 people, we have failed in providing enough food for everybody. Thus, I would like to recommend that for next year's Foodie Days Project, the PSG should increase the catering number to 120 people.
So many hungry mouths to feed!
During the course of the project, we received a feedback from one of the parents who donated money that his/her child did not get to eat any food during the project. I would like to state that this project runs on a first-come-first-served basis, thus your donation, although deeply appreciated, does not guarantee food for your child. Likewise, your child would not be denied food even though you did not make any donations towards the project.
We are the lucky bunch!
Therefore, I seek your understanding towards this matter. I would also like to use this platform to encourage more parents to engage their time to volunteer for subsequent projects similar to this one, as well as make generous donations to other such activities.
Once again, I would like to thank parents and teachers who have donated generously and helped out in the entire course of this project.
On behalf of all the beneficiaries...a big

Hip, Hip, Hurray!

To Miss Tay, teachers and parents:

PSG set up a booth on the PTM day dated July 26th, 2014. It was to create awareness for our FSP (Foodie days Project). On that Saturday, we pinned up photographs of 2013 FDP on a mobile notice board to show parents who came to our booth between 8:30 am to 11:30 am and had collected a substantial amount of donations.  After that, we proceeded to LT1 and got more donations. All in all, we had collected a cash amount of $784.00. Including Miss Tay’s contribution of $500.00, we have $1,284.00 altogether. The success of this event would not have been possible without your support.

On behalf of the PSG members, I would like to thank all of you for your generous donations.

You Can Help...

JJC is organizing a Night Study Program that provides a conducive environment for Year 1 & 2 students after regular school hours to prepare for their examinations. This program runs from July 29th to October 31st between 6:30 pm and 9:00 pm every Monday to Friday.

To show our support, PSG is sponsoring the Foodie Days Project in conjunction with the Night Study Program. Starting from August 5th to August 21st, we will have four PSG volunteers on six scheduled nights to take up the role as a food distributor to serve these students who stay back in school to study. The event starts at 6:30 pm and the helpers will stay up until the food is finished. The food is catered by the school canteen’s vendor. Any other sources are welcome but it must be licensed and meet the 3H criteria. They are Healthy, Hygienic and Halal food.
This is a good deed but unfortunately we are lacking funds. Therefore, we are sincerely asking for your generous donation. We deeply appreciate your donations.
You may donate by the following methods:
·         Cash - July 26th, Saturday on the PTM (Parents & Teachers Meeting). There will be a donation booth set up near the General Office.

·         Fund transfers - POSB account # 085-82987-4, accompanied with a SMS to our Treasurer’s telephone number: 92329787 to ensure the committee receive it.

All funds collected will be used on the Foodie Days Project. The balance will be carried forward to the following year to continue this project.
